Wow, it's been a bit since my last update. Sorry about that. The last month has been a blur. We have been enjoying Montana's sunny weather this time of year. I included a few shots of us hiking and biking in Big Fork. The best part about the springtime here is that it actually snowed for about 5 minutes yesterday! (actually the best part is the sunshine, but you know what I mean) You have to always have a jacket with you I guess. We also went to play soccer with the kids last friday night (I'm their coach) and it was so cold that we had to wear winter jackets. We had fun playing though.
Some sad news. As most of you know, we were expecting. I say were because Ruth miscarried last week. It was a bummer, but we really got a lot of support from friends family and God throughout the ordeal. So, thankyou all for your prayers and concerns.
As you can see on the right, the sunshine is really going to our heads! Jonny and I got the summer cut. Our Aussie friend Donna did it for us (thanks donna!).
Also, as you can see, Jonny is nearly toothless. He figured out that he could make money by yanking teeth out, so he twisted and turned to get it.
Ruth and Jessika have fun mother's day plans for next weekend. They are going to jump on the train to Seattle and visit friends Tessa and Shelby. They are exstatic.
While they do that, Jonny is staying with our Aussie buddies at base (thanks again Donna!) and I am heading out to Michigan to say hi to my grandma! I'm excited, he's excited...apparently we are all excited to have a break away for the weekend.
As far as studies go, I have finished all of the OT historical stuff and now I am reading through the prophets. Last week was the book of Isaiah. WOW, what a cool book, but it was the hardest week so far for me. As an engineer I'm not real good on the symbolic stuff, and the prophets were very symbolic to say the least. But it has so much awesome stuff in it. Personally, the prophecies are my favorite. It's just uncanny how much stuff they foretell and then it happens! The craziest one was when Isaiah told the name of the king (Cyrus) that would set the Jews free from Babylon. This doesn't seem like such a big deal until you realize that the name was not Jewish, and was over 100 years before it actually happened! anyway, it was fun to learn about.
Then of course there are the amazing prophecies of Christ...just too cool.
Oh, one more thing. We are planning to go to California for a few weeks in July, so hopefully we can see some of you there!
Back to work! Have a great week
Prayer requests:
1. stamina to finish school well...last day is June 28!
2. Housing details for summer time...
we are moving out of our current house the first week of July and then we'll be traveling the rest of July and then in the dorms on base for August...and we are praying we can move into our house on base then...rather than later...so pray for the house to be soon!
3. finances. We are leaping out this next year by relying entirely on support so we can both work full time (unpaid) with YWAM.
4. for Ruth to be healed up and able to go full steam in packing, work, kids, life!
